March was a month full of club activities and get togethers. We had photo shoots at Muskerry Church and Mt Kooyoora/Melville Caves as well as the club dinner. It was great to see members sharing their photos from the two outings on Cluster and Facebook. The committee extends appreciation to Rob Scholes for sharing his extensive knowledge of Mt Kooyoora. Many members expressed appreciation also.

Judging night – Tuesday April 13

The 2nd judging night for the year is next Tuesday. We will be meeting at the club rooms at Weeroona Pavilion at 7.30, and we will have in place the same Covidsafe arrangements that we had in February: social distancing, QR code check in, etc. We are pleased we will have the judge in attendance.

Activity night – Tuesday April 20

The April activity night will be at the clubrooms at 7.30. Our activity will be light painting shoot led by Will. The plan for the night is start the session with some instruction and guidance about settings at the club rooms. After that we will go for a walk down the creek, beyond the bridge, to a suitably dark location where the shoot will take place. Bring with you a wide and fast lens. Bring the fastest lens you have, ie: one with the largest aperture (smallest number), for example a 2.8. You should also bring a tripod and a torch and now that autumn is setting in, some warm clothes.

Clunes booktown festival – Sunday May 2

This festival is a good photographic opportunity. It is scheduled for both Saturday May 1 and Sunday May 2. On the Sunday we will have a club activity at the festival. For transport you can either make your own way there, meeting in Clunes at 10.30, or we will arrange a car pool from the club rooms, meeting at 9.00 a.m. If you would like to find out more about the event please visit the website: https://www.clunesbooktown.com.au/2020/

Activity night – Tuesday May 11

We will run a ‘market place” on this night to give members the chance to sell and swap equipment they no longer need. On the side we will show some select AVs, including some that highlight some spectacular parts of the world, to help us remember the world! This is not a judging night for AVs, just an opportunity to share and a bit of fun. More details to come. Entries for the June judging night will also be due. The set subject is Rocks.

We are planning an activity night for Tuesday May 18 and details will be shared as planning proceeds. We are also excited to be planning a weekend away for October. We didn’t have one in 2020 so it will be great to have the opportunity this year. Again we will share details as we planning proceeds.

Photography opportunity
