We are putting out a short newsletter this month, with a few updates and reminders – and an important invitation to members to submit entries for the inter club event.
Final call for entries for the Interclub event
On Monday November 16 we are joining with the Macedon Ranges Photographic Society for an online (Zoom) meeting to share photos and talk photography. In the October newsletter we invited members submit one photo that they would like to share and talk to (for a maximum of 5 minutes). We have had 5 entries submitted and we have now extended the submission time – closing today. So if you have been thinking about submitting a photo do so today. As a reminder the discussions points will be:
- What inspired you to take this photo?
- How was the image achieved?
- What equipment did you use?
- What post-processing did you undertake?
- Anything else you want to share
The inter club meeting will start at 7.30 and a Zoom meeting invitation will be distributed. Please note this event will replace the club activity night for November.
AV judging night – Tuesday November 10
We will get together on Zoom for the final AV judging night of the year next Tuesday. Zoom invitation to come.
End of the year awards – Saturday December 5
We will gather together by Zoom for the end of year awards on Saturday December 5 at 7.30. We want to make this a fun event and invite you to bring your own food and drink to the virtual event. The committee chose to schedule this on a Saturday night as is our tradition even, though we cannot get together yet in the same place. Entries have closed and we look forward to viewing members work and to the awards of the night. Again, a Zoom invitation will be distributed.
Syllabus and competitions for 2021
The committee are working on the syllabus for 2021 and will be notifying members of all the important dates and set subjects for the year. We do hope of course that 2021 will see us coming together as a club, face to face, for meetings, activities and excursions. This is a good time to remind members when submitting entries for competition to review the rules on the website and ensure you are labelling your photos correctly. We have provided many reminders of this and in 2021 incorrectly submitted entries will not be accepted. If you need some assistance with this please contact Matt or one of the committee members.
