Lavender Harvest Festival – Sunday January 12

Our first excursion for the year is the Lavender Harvest Festival at Lavandula Farm, which is on this coming Sunday January 12. Members can either make their own way there or if you wish to travel with other members and car pool we will be meeting at the club rooms at 9.00 am.  The farm is located at 350 Hepburn-Newstead Road, Shepherds Flat which is just 10 minutes north of Daylesford. Gates open at 10.00 and there is a cost of $6 for adults and $2 for children. Here is a link to the website for more information: https://www.lavandula.com.au/festivals–events.

Tuesday January 14first club meeting for the year

We will have a welcome to 2020 BBQ at the club rooms for our first meeting, a chance to relax together and catch up after the break. Bring along your photos from the Bendigo laneways night on a USB to share with members. A couple of reminders: this is the due date for the first digital/print competition of the year, the set subject is abstract. Very importantly membership subscriptions of $50 are now due.

Tuesday January 21 – activity night

We will have a “scavenger hunt” with photographic subjects provided on the night.  What that means is that we will provide a list of 10 photographic subjects and then members go seeking those around Lake Weeroona. Bring your camera and creativity! A reminder at that time we will be shooting in daylight so all you need is your camera, no tripod. After the “hunt” we ask members to show your favourite three photos.  You will need to shoot in JPG to allow for that.

Australia day exhibition and fund-raiser – Sunday January 26

For our annual Australia day exhibition and fundraiser on Australia day we will be seeking volunteers to assist with selling drinks, assisting with the tea and coffee station, setting up in the morning and pulling down the exhibition at the end of the day.  Members can also show their photos in this annual exhibition. For the exhibition you can submit up to 10 prints each.  You work can be offered for sale if you wish.  Further information will be provided at our meeting.
