We have a lot of activity coming up in the months ahead, details are provided in this newsletter starting with next week’s activity night.

September 10 Activity night – this week for our activity we will head out to View St for a photo shoot. There are plenty of photographic opportunities. Bring your camera, a tripod and for the weather, come prepared with a beanie, warm clothes and maybe even an umbrella. We will meet at the clubrooms at 7.30. Entries are also due for final print/DPI competition of the year, the set subject is “Candid”. The number of photos entered for our competitions continues to grow with a record number for the August competition of just under 100.

September 17 Activity night – May Brayshaw will be running a workshop on Lightroom.

October 8 judging night – Set subject is “Candid”. This is also the due date for the final AV competition of the year.

Halls Gap (Grampians) trip Oct 11,12,13 – a reminder that we are planning a weekend trip to the Grampians. If you haven’t yet put your name on the list, it will be available at the upcoming activity nights, or you can email the club secretary Will. The August newsletter provided a link to accomodation providers and suggested that you should start booking you accommodation very soon as it is a popular destination and the club annual trip is happening at a popular time of the year. October 15 Quad Comp – entries have now been finalised for the Quad Competition. Thank you to members for your contribution to this process. The event is in Castlemaine and we will travel over together from the clubrooms. On the night we meet at the clubrooms at 6.00 for a departure at 6.30. Entries for the end of the year competition are also due on this night which is why we are meeting at 6.00 p.m. The meeting time is really important so that you have time to submit your entries for the end of the year competition and allow for travel time to Castlemaine.

End of the year competition – as noted above, the end of the year competition entries are due on October 15. Please take a look at the entry rules on the website prior to submitting. Trophy winners from last year are asked to bring back their trophies on October 15 in readiness for the 2019 winners!

October 22 – this is the date for the end of year dinner which will be at the National Hotel. We will be collecting names at upcoming activity nights.

November 10 Royal Botanic Gardens, Cranbourne bus trip – this is a popular destination for photographers and club members. We will start collecting names for this trip at upcoming activity nights too.
