Sunday 7th January 2018:-

While the temperature is expected to be 42 degrees in Bendigo on Saturday 6th January, it is only going to be 26 degrees in Daylesford on Sunday the 7th for the Lavandula Lavender Harvest Festival. The address is 350 Hepburn-Newstead Road, Shepherds Flat, just 10 minutes from Daylesford. Opening hours are 10:30 am until 5:30pm. Brunch, Lunch and Sweets are all available. Sunday the 7th includes local producers of art, craft and gourmet food.

Entry cost is $6.00 per adult and $2.00 per school child.

Car pool at the club rooms at 9:00pm, alternatively meet at the above address.

Tuesday 9th January 2018:-

  • The club will be holding a BBQ starting at 6:30pm. The club will provide the BBQ. It will be a BYO everything event.  Plus we will running VIGEX Inc. DVD which goes for about 53 minutes. VIGEX conducts a series of International Photographic Salons in Geelong. Print salons have been held generally every two years since 1980.
  • Entries are due for the first Print/DPI competition of the year. The set-subject is “Still-Life”.
  • Also membership subs of $40.00 per person (same as last year) are now due.

Tuesday 16th January 2018:-

  • The activity night will be a photo shoot around the lake with sunset expected around 8:20pm.   Bring your camera, flash and tri-pod.

FRIDAY 26th JANUARY 2018:-

  • This is one of two events that your club uses to raise funds in order to keep your annual subscriptions to a minimum.   Major expenses include rent of the hall, membership to VAPS, judges and equipment replacement such as the projector and its screen our laptop and speakers etc
  • Set-up for this years event will start at 8:30am at the club rooms. Pack-up will be about 4:00pm
  • Each member will be asked to bring up to 10 images for display.
  • VOLUNTEERS are also needed to sell cold drinks and tea & coffee. While some members in the past have stayed all day it would be appreciated if you could volunteer at least a few hours during the day.

Tuesday 13th February 2018:-

  • Entries for the first Audio Visual (AV) competition of the year are due.
  • VAPS have approved the changes to the AV rules as at November 19th 2017. As previously stated the Bendigo Camera Club will follow these amended rules which now include Video footage, whether taken by the producer or not, but must not exceed 20% of the total running time. Copyright is the responsibility of each producer.
  • The 3.21 (3 minutes and 21 seconds) will now be a total of no more than 3 minutes and 21 seconds—IE it could be as short as 2 minutes.
  • VAPS allow their open section to be up to 12 minutes. Bendigo will stick to a maximum of 5 minutes.
  • All entries must be able to run without the need of the application software that produced it.                                                                                                                                                             EG: .exe .mov or Mmp4 files.

 

AWARDS NIGHT AT THE RSL

The club has received a letter of thanks from the RSL following last years Awards Night. The RSL was very impressed with how we run our event.   We have again booked the RSL for 2018 which will be the first Saturday of December which just happens to be the 1st of December.
