These images can be overlapping, &#8220;cutout&#8221; (extracted) or merged (blended).<\/p>\n<h4>\nHere are the three main techniques you might use and some tutorials you might find useful:<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Erase (PSE, Photoshop CS)<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nErase everything you don\u2019t want &#8211; BUT erasing is permanent so you can\u2019t easily undo your changes without starting again from scratch<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.photoshopstar.com\/effects\/how-to-cheat-with-visualization-in-photoshop\">Face on a Pear<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=j6fofjShn7k\">How to Combine Photos Using Photoshop Elements 10<\/a> (or earlier versions &#8211;&nbsp;uses magnetic lasso)\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Clipping Mask (PSE, Photoshop CS)<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nThe mask is a separate layer that you \u201cclip\u201d your image to.
