{"id":16639,"date":"2020-03-19T07:23:14","date_gmt":"2020-03-18T20:23:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bendigocameraclub.org.au\/?p=16639"},"modified":"2020-04-12T20:44:47","modified_gmt":"2020-04-12T10:44:47","slug":"options-for-sharing-online-please-vote","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bendigocameraclub.org.au\/?p=16639","title":{"rendered":"Options for sharing online &#8211; please vote"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hello members, as we have cancelled meetings and activities for the foreseeable future, we are looking into ways of keeping our interest in photography alive and connecting online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three online services come to mind, but we are reluctant to choose one without consulting with the whole community about which one suits the majority of members. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All three are free and quite simple to use. If you are unfamiliar with any of them please read the information below and view the examples. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whichever option we choose, <strong>the Club\u2019s website will still be the primary point of access<\/strong> with links taking you to the online service we choose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This survey will close on Saturday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-background has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size has-vivid-red-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/r\/XHYP5LJ\"><strong>Click here to vote<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Further information about each option is below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Facebook<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our club&#8217;s Facebook group: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/305905360047849\/\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/305905360047849\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Advantages <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Many of us have an account already and access it regularly<\/li><li>We already have a closed BCC group we could post in<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Disadvantages<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>If you have an account it is necessary to request to join the BCC group <\/li><li>Some do not have accounts on Facebook for ethical or privacy reasons<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Instagram<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is a social networking site where you make friends, etc, just like Facebook. Our club&#8217;s photos: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/explore\/tags\/bendigocameraclub\/\">https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/explore\/tags\/bendigocameraclub\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Advantages<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Simple to use.<\/li><li>Quite a few of use have one already<\/li><li>It is a great forum to share photography<\/li><li>We already have an Instagram hashtag for our club (#bendigocameraclub)<\/li><li>Once you join, it is a simple matter of adding that hashtag to your post for it to show up in the club&#8217;s feed<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Disadvantages<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Not all of us use it<\/li><li>Have to remember to add &#8216;&#8221;#bendigocameraclub&#8221; to the description and spell it correctly<\/li><li>Works best on the Instagram app on a mobile device, with fewer features on a browser on a pc<\/li><li>Your Instagram posts will be visible to all of your Instagram friends<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dropbox<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We already use if for sharing files. For example: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dropbox.com\/sh\/1qqi917sdm58kwu\/AAASJZYetwazIaVXj-UBwe3-a?dl=0\">Be inspired by a painting<\/a>. You get to view the images, but it wants you to sign in before you can leave comments or upload your own images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Advantages<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Simple to use<\/li><li>We already use it for distributing files to members<\/li><li>You can view the dropbox image gallery without installing the app<\/li><li> You can also use it for personal cloud storage. Once installed it looks just like another folder on your computer. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dropbox.com\/basic\">https:\/\/www.dropbox.com\/basic<\/a>.
